Tamil Weddings Are Simple Yet Traditional

Tamil Weddings Are Simple Yet Traditional - The Tamil community is considered to be a group of people who lead their lives in simplicity yet they think high. Similarly Tamilian weddings are very simple yet traditional with a lot of ceremonies and rituals. They do not conduct weddings extravagantly because they have very few guests of which most are close relatives. Every ritual is performed with utmost care and perfection as the Tamilians have high regard for their matrimony and consider this ceremony auspicious. Like most other Indian weddings the Tamil weddings involve a lot of customs as well as rituals. In order to fix the date of the ceremony one needs to consult the Hindu calendar. The months of Aashad which extends from July 15th to August 15th, Bhadrapad which extends from September 15 to October 15 and shunya which extends from December 15 through January 15 are not chosen for weddings because these months are considered inauspicious.

Pre-wedding celebrations of Tamil Weddings

It is customary to seek the blessings of the family deity just before the wedding preparations start so as to ensure a smooth and successful wedding. The deity is usually personified by a bamboo pole and the families of the bride and the groom pray to this deity. This ritual is usually held just a day before the wedding. This is called the Panda Kaal Muhurtham.

Following the Panda Kaal Muhurtham is a ritual that involves receiving the groom. The grooms family is received with a lot of respect which involves sprinkling of rose-water on the groom along with offering a tray of flowers, fruits and pan supari. The Aarti is performed by anyone of the bride's family members in order to keep away evil spirits. Finally a coconut is broken on the ground as a custom.

The next ritual involves filling of clay pots with grains. Each pot is filled with a different type of grain and married women from both sides sprinkle the pots with water. This is done just a day before the wedding so that the grains sprout on the wedding day. These pots are then left to sink in a pond where the fish can feed on the grains and this is considered to be a blessing. This ritual is called Pallikai Thellichal.

The Naandi involves inviting of some Brahmins who are considered to represent ancestral members of the bride and groom. Their blessings are sought after once they are provided with sweets as well as gifts.

Another custom that is rarely practiced these days is the Jaanavaasam. A Procession escorts the groom to the venue and this procession consists of a joyous group of family and friends. The procession also consists of musicians playing wedding music. Sometimes the occasion is also celebrated using fireworks. Once the party reaches the wedding venue the bride's brother garlands the groom and receives him.

After the groom is received the Ganesha pooja is performed by the bride's parents in the presence of a priest. The bride also participates in the ceremony and is gifted a sari by her in-laws. Arthi is performed for her and a flower garland is tied around her waist. This ceremony is called Nicchiyadharatham.

After Nicchiyadharatham the wedding invitation is read out formally by the priest and this is called the Lagna Pathirigai followed by a huge and sumptuous dinner.

The wedding rituals include Mangala Snaanam which is the auspicious bath of the bride and groom, then the Kashi Yatra after which the exchange of Garlands take place followed by Kanyadaanam, Muhurtum and Saptapadi.

Tamil matrimony is very simple yet sophisticated. Tamilians follow every rule that this laid by the ancestors when it comes to Tamilmatrimony.

The 3 Most Importance Aspects to a Successful Lasting Marriage

The 3 Most Importance Aspects to a Successful Lasting Marriage - A feeling of indescribable measures, finding your true love is monumental. An event in your life that will forever change the course of your future and force your perspective of living to change its ideas of priority and importance. Marriage is only but a result of finding your heart's missing beat but once you've grasped that love, the best thing to do is hold on tight. They say marriage is hard work, but those that believe it may be married to the wrong person.

Marriage is a unity of common cores and traits. A sanction of love purest form and a space of dwelling compromises. Having a successful marriage is not about social status or economical position but instead about three very simply concepts. Want a successful marriage? Here are three traits all successful marriages have in common.

Compromise:

We are individuals first. We are creatures of creativity and of structure. Our hopes, aspirations and tendencies are unique to our individual self and exceptionally rare to mimic. If you are in a marriage and want to achieve success within the relationship, your biggest common trait must be the ability to compromise. Not a fan of the ballet or Sunday football marathons? Does your spouse seem to find totally bliss in participating in these events? To compromise allows both individuals to show selfless effort in gaining new experiences as a couple and gain better insight on what makes their spouse tick. The ability to compromise solves endless problems faced by many marriages on the verge of divorce. Placing importance on the interests and passions of your spouse creating a lasting impression of compassion, love and success.

Communication:

Hear and be heard. Communication is simple. Many marriages fail solely on the basis of a great lack of communication. The individual voices are drowned out with complication, misunderstanding and hurt. Success occurs when empathy and consideration are two elements consistently present. Be an active listener and listen to your spouse and their concerns. Do not find fault in the conversation but instead seek for a resolution. Be open and honest about your concerns as well. Find a balance between your needs and wants and that of your spouse. Never allow things to fester and fill your emotions with anger before trying to talk things through. Always keep in mind positive experiences while communicating. Focusing on the negative will ultimately destroy the bridge of communication and cause several elements of resentment. All things can be resolved. At times, ending a relationship because of lack of communication is the best resolution.

The 3 Most Importance Aspects to a Successful Lasting Marriage

Goals:

Creating a life in where both individuals find pure happiness can be difficult but if there are no common goals, life aspirations or work/moral ethic, then creating such a life can be unobtainable. Personal growth and progression is needed in all relationships. As time goes on and the relationship continues to grow and face several obstacles, it is crucial for both individuals to adapt and maintain focus of their life aspirations. Although all relationships face hardship in some form, it is how the couple perceives and moves forward in a positive manner in which allows the couple to grow and gain success in a marriage. Be sure to understand each other's goals in life both personal and work related.

The New York Times has recently stated, "being married make people happier and more satisfied with their lives than those who remain single - particularly during the most stressful periods, like a midlife crisis." Having a partner in a marriage that truly understand you, your needs, wants, goals in life and also shares some of these traits can create a life of lasting memories and exciting times in where give unmeasurable value to life. Put some effort into your marriage, not extenuating hard work.

The 3 Most Importance Aspects to a Successful, Lasting Marriage

Gain a successful relationship with 3 simple life learned lessons. Implement these vital elements into your marriage and start to see a change. Make your marriage one to cause a stir for its strength and undeniable love compatibility.

Five Non-Traditional Wedding Venues You Should Consider

Five Non-Traditional Wedding Venues You Should Consider - Wedding planners are always saying how important the venue is when planning a wedding. The truth is they're exactly right. Couples don't have to get married in a church if they don't want to nowadays. When it comes to your big day, you can have your wedding in just about any place you want, even if it is non-traditional.

Performance Centers

Most people don't think about it, but performance centers like concert halls, opera houses or theaters are the perfect places to have a wedding. Why? For one, they are designed to host large crowds, which can obviously come in handy with the larger weddings, but can be used for smaller ones just the same. Performance centers also make great wedding venues because the acoustics are great and you won't have to spend a great deal of money on decorating, depending on the type of performance center, because they usually are ornately decorated to begin with.

National Parks or Government-Owned Facilities

Can you imagine a bigger stage for your wedding other than a national park? National parks can be great wedding venues because they are incredibly spacious. However, keep in mind that because they are public facilities operated by local government, you may be required to limit your wedding party and/or obtain permits for the event. You may still find that the pros outweigh the cons as the picturesque landscaping may just be the perfect backdrop for your intimate ceremony.

Five Non-Traditional Wedding Venues You Should Consider

Private Residences

Have you ever thought about having your ceremony at a friend's house or your family's vacation home? Friends' houses, vacation homes, your own backyard or even a rented mansion or estate can make great wedding venues, particularly for the sentimental value it may hold. Having your ceremony at a private residence can also be a huge cost savings, particularly if you're having your vacation home or a friend's house, which can mean the potential to splurge on other aspects like entertainment, food or the honeymoon.

Hobby Facilities

As strange as it may seem initially, another great place to host a private ceremony is a hobby related facility. Specifically, couples may want to consider hosting their private event at a golf course, airplane hangar or even a baseball stadium. The thing that couples should remember with hobby facilities and all the other types of non-traditional nuptial locations is that sentimentality plays a key role along with the overall aesthetic look that you want to pull off for your wedding. Hobby-related facilities can represent the perfect union between what is near and dear to the couple as well as the grandeur that such an intimate ceremony deserves.

Nature or Other Geographic Locations

Although it is becoming increasingly popular to use nature or other geographic locations as traditional wedding venues, it's still considered non-traditional. Specifically, couples should consider exchanging their vows in front of family and friends with a cave, lake, mountain, woods or forest as the backdrop. Aside from dealing with nature's fine elements, the picturesque scenery could lend itself to quite a unique nuptial spot.

How To Prepare For An Outdoor Wedding

How To Prepare For An Outdoor Wedding - Weddings are always a lot more fun when held outdoors. People seem to be more relaxed when parties or events are held outdoors instead of a cramped indoors venue. Fresh outdoor air and starlit skies at night sets the mood for light talks and positive vibes. The only thing that can ruin a perfect wedding reception held outdoors is when it rains without warning and the guests will have to run for cover. Chaos will instantly ensue without doubt. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent an outdoor wedding from getting ruined.

Plans and Back-Up Plans

It is a must to plan any event to the smallest detail and not leave anything to chance because even a small detail can cause a big issue when not taken care of. It is also worth mentioning that the plan should have at least one back-up plan in case the original plan cannot be executed for some reason such as venue issues or weather issues. When planning an outdoor wedding, include in the plan a marquee hire to address issues of unexpected rains. Preferably, the marquee should have flaps or walls. In case the rains are accompanied by winds, the flaps can just be secured to shield guests.

How To Prepare For An Outdoor Wedding

Check Regularly For Weather Updates

No matter how good the venue, food, music, wine and guest list plans are, when bad weather comes in the way, it will all go to waste. Hence, include in your back-up plan a possible reschedule of the wedding date or an alternative venue. Make it a habit to check for weather updates to make sure that if it is really needed, the venue will have to be moved indoors or to another location. If a storm will make a landfall on the date selected for the wedding, it may be a wiser move to change the date of the wedding.

Conduct Regular Meetings

Make sure that meetings with the people in charge of food, venue, music, guests, decorations, entourage, programme, et cetera are held at a regular basis to check on the progress of the plan. Regular reports should also be included and each one should give an update on their parts regularly as well so that all can be sufficiently addressed if there is a need to. Make sure that everything stays within the budget, the marquee hire and other structures if they are included in the back-up plan. Allow for some contingency because there is always a possibility that unforeseen expenditures may arise.
